Our two science rooms have been refurbished this year with interactive whiteboards and the most up-to-date equipment at a cost of €200,000. This makes them the most modern science laboratories in the locality.
There are ten fully equipped units in the cookery room. However, the Home Economics Department will undergo a major modernisation in the coming year as part of the ongoing investment in the school’s facilities.
Our specialised Art room enables students to develop their creativity through such activities as photography, painting, batik design, model making and animation. Art is taught as part of the curriculum up to Leaving Certificate.
The library in St. Fanahan’s College was refurbished last year and is fully stocked with up-to-date titles chosen by the students. The library, which also has computer facilities, has proven to be an invaluable resource to students, both as a study aid and for recreation.
Students are provided with a ‘free’ breakfast from 8.15 to 8.55. They can choose from cereals, fresh fruit, pancakes, smoothies and a variety of drinks.
A variety of wholesome food such as homebaked sausage rolls etc, are available at Morning Break while soup and a hot meal are available at lunchtime.
