Book Rental Scheme
There is a Book Rental Scheme operational in the school which allows students of all year groups to rent books at a nominal fee which is reviewed annually.
Our school uniform consists of a black sweatshirt with school crest, a grey shirt or polo shirt, grey pants and black shoes. The P.E. uniform consists of a black hooded sweatshirt with school crest, black tracksuit bottoms, red t-shirt with crest and runners.
Students’ work is constantly evaluated through examination and project work. Bi-monthly assessments are carried out, the results of which are posted home. The homework diary provides an invaluable source of communication while Parent/Teacher meetings give parents the opportunity to discuss student progress.
Homework Club/ Supervised Study
A Homework Club is operational free of charge in the school where first and second year students receive help with their homework after school if necessary. All other students can avail of supervised evening study. Pupils taking part in these schemes are supplied with complimentary sandwiches and a drink.
Each student is assigned a locker at the beginning of the school year for which he/she pays a nominal rent.
School Stationary Shop
All necessary supplies can be purchased in our student-run stationary shop at break-time.
Teachers assign merits to either individual students or entire class groups to acknowledge genuine effort and achievement. Students/class groups are rewarded for their effort at the end of each term.
A Buddy System is operational in our school whereby a senior cycle student is assigned to look after a first year student ensuring that he/she has a specific person to confide in should he/she have any problems or worries.
The Pastoral Care Team in the school promotes the moral, spiritual, social and personal development of our students. Any student who has a specific problem can be assured of a sympathetic ear and a guiding hand.
