As part of JCSP we are running a 'Who Wants to be a Word Millionaire Competition' for all first year students for six weeks during our first term, finishing in December.
Students will be split into groups and the competition will begin after our first year students have had a chance to settle into secondary school.
The competition is run using Accelerated Reader computer Programme where our students read a book and complete an online quiz based on the book they have read. If a student passes the quiz they are awarded the word count for that book which then counts towards their teams total word count for the Word Millionaire Competition.
The Accelerated Reader website can be accessed by students and parents outside of school using the link below. Parents can monitor what books their son/daughter has read and whether or not they were successful with the quiz.
Your son/daughter's username and password can be used to log in to the page.
